WHAT I LEARNED: 1. In the spirit of Tradition Six, this guideline answers 11 frequently asked questions that help clarify the difference between affiliation & cooperation between the Al-Anon & AA organizations. It’s basically how not to get our chocolate mixed up with their peanut butter. …Sure the combination of flavors might taste great for some, but for those that just want pure chocolate or pure peanut butter, it’s best to have them separate.
2. I learned that if I go to an AA meeting, even though it’s an “open” meeting, I’m only allowed to share if I’m invited to. (Whoops!)
3. Alateen can’t be a part of an AA Convention unless Al-Anon is participating. So the kid (Alateen) can go, only if the parent (Al-Anon) goes too. 🙂
